Last week was a bit hectic with sick people and i didn´t get to posting the 28 weeks update therefore. But catching up this week. Can´t believe it´s already over 29 weeks, meaning it´s probably less than 11 weeks before the baby gets here….iekkkk! This week I did something totally out of my comfort zone as far as birth prepping goes and I am still not 100% sure I want to continue with it. I hadn´t never heard of this but when I saw my neighbour 2 days after giving birth already kneeling in the garden to play with the toddlers and sitting on the floor with them I was like, “what on earth did you do, didn´t you have a baby like 2 minutes ago?” she told me about a special kind of physiotherapy she had been doing to prepare for birth.
I was obviously keen to learn more and went to check out this “pelvic floor physiotherapy”. The idea is that by strengthening your muscles, giving birth will be less damaging and hopefully reduce the chance for stitches etc. Yesterday I had my intake and let´s just see it was slightly weird. The official therapy doesn´t start until week 32 and during the last 8 weeks of pregnancy it will prepare the area down there for the kinda big thing that has to come through it…. Although I am convinced of the usefulness of it (and i think for me personally it´s also good for mental birth preparation since after my last, slightly traumatic giving birth, i am still a bit in denial over here), the thought of a weekly, pretty painful, massage and increasing balloon to simulate the baby´s head is still freaking me out completely. For now, I have made the appointment for week 32, let´s see if i don´t back out in the next 3 weeks.
How I am feeling
Feeling better this week, pretty tired still and having to pee a lot, but for the rest I am quite fine! Ok, that is physically, mentally I had a little drama attack this week, gotta love those hormones. I think the trigger were the curtains that I ordered and that I didn´t like at all when they arrived and the fact I couldn´t find the milk in the supermarket…. and after that everything was drama. Yep, the important things in life! Who knew you could almost burst into tears for not finding milk :s.
Quite into sushi this week, the veggie ones while drawling about the good stuff C is eating in the mean time ;). Take note friends, first thing I will want to eat in that hospital bed: spicy tuna crunch roll!
Everyone is saying I have a small bump and it´s just belly, but somehow I still managed to already gain 11kilos…
Nesting has definitely kicked in so I have been organizing clothes like crazy. Got up all the boxes of old clothes of the bichin and sorted them into “boys clothes”, “neutral clothes” and “to donate”. L´s daycare is collecting clothes for India next week so it was a good deadline to finish everything this week and I just finished going through everything. As for shopping, just bought some new bath towels this week in the nursery colors (can´t wait to show you, if only we would be able to get the wall paper up….) and some bed linnen, we will be moving L to a big boy bed this week so getting in gear for that! Also got a training alarm for him so I am really hoping this little sheep (aff) will teach my crazy toddler to stay in bed to a somewhat reasonable hour. (Yep, very optimistic, I know)
