Woohoooo, it´s Friday and we have a busy weekend ahead here! Tomorrow I am headed to Valencia for two indoor hockey matches (which we´re probably going to lose but hey, it´s all about the fun right?) and Sunday C has an indoor match, followed by some tapas and in the afternoon a playdate with friends. Can´t wait! This week has been a busy one, both at work and at home.
Nothing new, but this little guy ALWAYS is the highlight of my week (well, almost always). He´s getting more eager to walk, so he might be slow but we´re getting there. More on that on the blog this week. And when we can´t find him, he is very often in the shower. Because hey, who needs all these fancy toys when you can have shampoo and soap bottles to play with. This week we had his 18month check-up and all was great, he is finally moving up in the curves so maybe his Dutch DNA is finally coming through. It was also time for another vaccination, ugh I hate these days. Seriously, my heart bleeds every time, the good news is that the next ones are not until he is 3yo.
On Saturday I had some quality time with myself and watched Bridget Jones Baby. Seriously, loved that movie! Was watching with a big smile on my face most of the time. What a little me-time can do!
I didn´t share this post yet because I didn´t feel very comfy about it, e.g. it is not really my style to be so open about my feelings so I figured if I wouldn’t promote it nobody would notice I wrote it. BUT, since apparently part of my grieving process is writing and on paper (or actually, on screen) I can be more open, I decided it´s time to throw it out there so here you go. (eeeeek!)
Done is better than good
I am still reading Big Magic and on Tuesday I read a chapter which really hit home with me and really changed my way of working this week. And I got so much done! Basically, it can all be summarized in “done is better than good”. Instead of waiting for something to be perfect (which it will probably never be) just get it out there. The writer described when writing her first book the thought process was the following: it will probably never be perfect, but a finished, good enough book is way better than a perfect, unfinished manuscript in your drawer. And this principle can be applied to anything in life! So, let´s just get it done!
I love reading the latest posts from fellow mom and lifestyle bloggers and link-ups are a great way to find new blogs. So I will be hosting a mom-life link-up every Friday on Working Mommy Abroad, I might come up with specific topics in the future but for now anything parenting / momlife related can be posted here!
Not many rules, just make sure to check out some of your fellow mom bloggers and spread the love! I will make sure to share your posts on my Twitter, Facebook and / or Pinterest channels.
