So somehow I decided I wanted to do a detox juice cycle (at the moment of writing I already have no clue anymore why on earth I would decide something crazy like that) and that 5-day cycle has just started. The idea is that you live on 5 juices every day made of pure fruits and veggies, so you have 5 days with only unprocessed food. Some of my objectives to do this were to become aware of what I normally eat (let me tell you, after 1 day I am so aware already, I am addicted to food!) and to break bad eating habits (which, let´s be honest, I have quite a few after becoming a mom). So here we are, day 1 is almost over and I am struggling! I did not expect this would be so difficult, as an illustration a quick summary of how my day went:
Before having the bichin I used to read a lot about how to develop yourself further, how to be more productive and leadership, I have read many and many books on these topics but some of my all-time favorites were (or I should probably say “are”) Robin Sharma´s The Leader Who Had No Title and Hal Elrod´s The Miracle Morning . What all of these books have in common is that successful people get up very early to start the day well. So the idea is that if you get up before most people get up you can take some time for preparing the day to come, reflection, meditation, some physical activity and a good breakfast. This approach is also often called “the 6am club” (or some even do the 5am club but that was a bit too much for me) and before the bichin was born I tried to start my mornings with the 6am club. But, since being a mom I have to say that I am not a voluntary member of the club anymore. If only the bichin wasn´t a member either…
Last week me and my sisters went to get a small tattoo, something we have talked about for years but never really put into action and now that life recently gave us another sign that it can be over before you know it we decided to go for it. Although I am super happy with the result I did have a small (understatement) eye-opener in the tattoo shop when we were trying to decide where to put it.
So this week I am not working but I am away from home the whole week. My manager sent me to this course at our corporate university which is called Leading Self or know yourself. We only started yesterday and the content of this course is pretty intensive and gives food for a looot of thought but actually it also feels like a little holiday full of me-time at an amazing place!
Just some examples:
• Last night after dinner I have been catching-up in bed on Grey´s Anatomy
• I took a bath and did some reading, an actual long foamy bath! Can´t reminder when was the last time….
• Long uninterrupted showers are the norm here, with body lotion after each shower (that´s at least 3 bonus points)
