Time is flying by and we´re already over 25 weeks, can´t believe how fast this pregnancy is going! The last week has been a bit more tough, due to a lot of back pain and since it was a national holiday in Spain on Thursday, but all schools were off in our town on Wednesday & Friday as well, I decided to take two extra days off and we spontaneously went on a trip to the Pyrenees. Best decision ever! Just three days of doing nothing, disconnecting, being outside and enjoying the quietness of rural life.
Baby shopping the first time can seem like a mission impossible. Buying cute clothes is one thing but the insane amount of so-called “must-have” other baby products that stores have to offer can make it slightly overwhelming. And let´s face it, 75% of these you don´t really need. Now that we are starting to prepare for baby #2 it´s obviously much easier, in the first place because we already have a lot and secondly because I know now what we really need and what is just great marketing but not required (at all). However, there are also some things that I never thought of before, but that only after having the bichin I realized are super useful.
So I was planning to have this bump update up last Friday, but you know, life happened. So a little late, and almost ready for bump update 24weeks but here we go. This week it was back to normal life here, so between daycare, work, travel to Madrid and C´s insane schedule, it has been a tiring week honestly. The doc told me to take it a bit easy and to rest a lot, but seriously, does she really think that is possible with a 2yo around? Yeah, no.
We´re back at home! After a month in the Netherlands and a week in Menorca, it´s really good to be back at our own place. Spending so much time with friends and family was the best, but coming back to your own little house and not living out of a suitcase is actually quite nice. However, what I did realize is that actually, I didn´t miss much stuff. And I am mostly talking clothes. When I did the packing for this long trip, I had to really minimize the stuff I was bringing for myself because packing for a toddler for so long is quite a challenge. Especially if you realize we went from fall weather in the Netherlands (e.g. long pants, jackets, long PJs etc.) to beach weather in Menorca (e.g. beach towels, swimming gear, some buckets to play with, summer PJs) so I had to bring it all. However, I never really missed my clothes and was fine with a few basics that I wore a lot (to be fair, I did borrow a few items from my sisters + mom, but still i had the smallest choice of clothes ever), so my mission for this week is to downsize my closet a bit since obviously I don´t need it all.
Last week in the Netherlands and last week before I finally have a week off…. seriously need it! Have been working all through summer and now that everybody in the office is coming back after 3 or 4 weeks of holidays, full of energy and super motivated to kick ass at work, I realized I am done and need a break as well. So I am counting down the days to go to the beach and disconnect completely. So this lovely laptop will stay in the suitcase as much as possible. This also means our weeks in the Netherlands have come to an end, can´t believe how fast these weeks have flown by! Beforehand I thought so many weeks here would be an eternity but it really all went by so fast.
