It´s minimalism Monday so today one of my recent hacks to keep my house and thereby my head organized. This may sound like common sense but I start my days so much better when I wake up to an organized house. When the kitchen is still overflowing with yesterday´s dishes and the table in the living room has all kinds of papers on it, my head is also already overflowing from the moment I wake up. Obviously, not the best start of the day and I already stress about the mess before breakfast.
I have been reading quite some minimalism/essentialism blogs lately and that combined with my annoyance about “all the stuff” made me realize something has to change. Also, after more than a month living out of a suitcase this summer, I realized that we don´t need that much and that with probably less than 1/10 of my clothes I was perfectly fine. In addition, a lot of mornings I start my day in a rush / stressed because there´s still stuff in the kitchen from last night, toys and clothes everywhere, and a table full of papers/notebooks etc. All that stuff just makes my head overflow. It sounds so basic but my head is so much calmer when the table in the living is clear, the kitchen is cleaned up and there´s no stuff all over the place when I wake up in the morning.
