Week 37 and time for another bump update…. which very likely will be the last bump update if nothing changes over the next couple of days. Can´t even believe it myself when I am writing it down haha but most likely the week 38 bump update will be non-existent or an empty bump update.
Ok, rewind a few days to explain why this is probably the last bump update because we had quite a scare this week. Luckily it was a false alarm but it sure was scary! When we had the check-up this week, my doc wanted to do an ultrasound to see if the baby had turned or if she was still breech. During the ultrasound, her heartbeat dropped a lot so we were rushed upstairs to get a proper heart monitor done for the little girl. If the situation wouldn´t change we were told it was going be an emergency c-section immediately. When I was with the monitor, the heartbeat was already back to normal (probably it was just the position I was in for the ultrasound combined with our little girl laying breech that stressed her out) but I did have quite some contractions. After some more explorations, I was sent home with the message to avoid laying on my back at all time and that they thought trying to turn her manually would be too risky so that a c-section would be scheduled for next week. The next morning I went back to do another heart monitor and see if I had contractions, and luckily everything was fine. No contractions this morning and heartbeat was normal, they also checked that I was not dilated yet and everything was fine. After that, a very elaborate ultrasound was done to make sure everything is fine with the little girl and fortunately, everything looked perfect. She was still breech though, so if everything stays calm (e.g. no contractions) we will have a c-section next week. Pretty crazy!!! On the one hand, I can´t wait to meet her, on the other hand, I am super scared of everything that is coming!
With the probable birth date in mind, I guess it´s time to do a little nursery reveal! We still need to hang the curtains this weekend, but the rest is more or less done. So, this is how it turned out:
